Introduction

This privacy statement gives an overview of what happens to your personal information when you visit our websites, www.protec-austria.com, www.protec-austria.de and www.protec-austria.it, web presences owned by PROTEC Austria Trading GmbH, Salzburg / Austria. Personal information is any data with which you could be personally identified.

Informations are collected automatically as soon as you enter our websites. These data are primarily technical data such as the browser and operating system you are using or when you accessed the page. Other data are collected when you provide it to us. This could, for example, be data you enter on a contact form or via online-chat.

We process your personal data in compliance with the applicable data protection rules, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Processing of data

a. Processing of usage data

When you visit our websites, we receive the following information regarding the use of each website, information that your browser automatically transmits to us in so called server log files, including:

  • the name of your internet service provider (ISP)
  • your IP address
  • hostname of the accessing computer
  • device and operating system (OS) used
  • browser type and browser version
  • referrer URL (the website which has led you to our websites)
  • each webpage of our websites accessed by you
  • files downloaded by you from our website
  • your country or region
  • date and time of the server request

b. Processing of contact data

If you send us enquiries by means of our contact form, online chat or by email, your information details including the contact data, such as phone number, email address or address, are stored by us for the purpose of enquiry and order processing (so-called contact data). We will, therefore, process any data you enter onto the contact form only with your consent per Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b) GDPR.

We will retain the data you provide as mentioned above until you request its deletion, revoke your consent for its storage, or if the purpose for its storage no longer pertains (e.g. after fulfilling your request).

You may revoke your consent of processing your data at any time. An informal email making this request is sufficient (see Para. 7 of this statement). The data processed before we receive your request may still be legally processed.

2. Third Parties

To process your request in the context of an order (sample request), we transmit your data to a contracting service provider (parcel or postal service). The legal basis for the transfer of data is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b GDPR.

Other than handling your requests, we will not transmit your personal data without consent to any third parties, except where we are entitled or obliged by law or receive an official request by a court or authority.

Your data will not be disclosed to third parties for advertising purposes without your express consent.

Technical operation (hosting) of our websites is maintained by an internet service provider (ISP), with servers located in Germany. The collection, processing and use of your data by the service provider takes place exclusively in accordance with our instructions, the statements of this privacy policy apply in the same way.

3. Security

Technical and organizational security measures are being used in order to protect your personal data from being manipulated, lost, destructed or accessed by unauthorized persons. When personal data is collected, such data will be encrypted in transit to prevent misuse of the data by any third parties. Our security measures are continuously reviewed or improved.

Access to the contents under www.protec-austria.com and the transfer of data within this domain via browser is secured by an SSL certificate. This is usually a 256-bit encryption, assuming your browser supports this. We use an organization- and domain-validated certificate. Whether a single web page is encrypted is indicated by the closed key or lock symbol in the status bar of your browser.

4. Cookies

Some of our web pages use cookies. Cookies do not harm your computer and do not contain any viruses. Cookies help make our website more user-friendly and efficient. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser.

5. Web analysis tools, Google Analytics, Adwords

When visiting our website, statistical analyses may be made of your surfing behavior. This happens primarily using Cookies within Google Analytics and Google Adwords (with your permission)

a. Google Analytics

This Website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc., operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

We use Google Analytics in order to improve the content and functionalities on our Website. Legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a) GDPR. For data collection operations not merged into your Google Account (in case you do not have a Google Account or have objected to the merge), the collection of data is based on Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f) GDPR.

You can find further information about the personal data processed by Google Analytics in the Analytics Help Pages at https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=en.

Google will use this information to evaluate your use of our websites to compile reports about the website activities and to provide further services related to website activity and internet usage for us. IP address sent through Google Analytics from your browser is not associated with other data of Google.

Personal data of users will be deleted or anonymized after 14 months.

b. Google AdWords and Google Conversion Tracking

Our websites using Google AdWords. AdWords is an online advertising program by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

As part of Google AdWords, we use so called conversion tracking. When you click on an ad served by Google, a conversion tracking cookie is set with your permission.

c. Google ReCAPTCHA

Our website uses “Google reCAPTCHA” (hereinafter “reCAPTCHA”); a service of Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

The purpose of reCAPTCHA is to check whether the data entered in a contact form or other input masks on our website has been entered by a human or by an automated software.
To do this, the behavior of the website visitor is automatically analyzed based on various characteristics when our website is accessed (e.g. IP address, how long the visitor spent on the site, mouse movements or keystrokes). The analysis takes place in the background without prior notice on the respective page.

The collected data is forwarded to Google and processed there; No. 5 paragraph d) of this data protection declaration applies accordingly.

Data processing takes place on the basis of Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its web offerings from abusive automated spying and from SPAM.

d. IP anonymization and Google Privacy Shield

An adequacy decision by the European Commission, the “Privacy Shield”, is in place for data transfers to the USA. Google participates in the “Privacy Shield” and has submitted to the guidelines.

We have activated the IP anonymization feature on this website. Your IP address will be shortened by Google within the European Union or other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area prior to transmission to the United States. Only in exceptional cases the full IP address is sent to a Google server in the US and shortened there.

Our Google Analytics implemantation uses the “anonymizeIP” feature to ensure the anonymous storage of IP addresses (so called IP-Masking).

6. Social Media

On our websites, links to the interaction with the social media platforms Facebook, GooglePlus, YouTube, LinkedIn and XING are integrated. Only if you click on the corresponding links (“buttons”), the provider receives the information that you have accessed the referring website of our online service. On pages with embedded Youtube-Videos, this information will be send when you enter the page.

These features offers you to interact with social networks and other users and allows us to improve our offerings and make them more interesting to you as a user. The legal basis for the use of these functions is Art. 6 Para 1) lit. f) GDPR.

a. Facebook

We use the “share/like” function from facebook.com, operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA. The “share/like” link can be recognized by way of the Facebook logo . If you click on this button, the relevant information is transmitted directly from your browser to Facebook and stored there. Furthermore, Facebook makes your likes public for your Facebook friends. If you are logged into Facebook, the invocation of our page can be assigned to your Facebook account. Even if you are not logged in or don’t have a Facebook account, your browser sends information (e.g. which web pages you have visited, your IP address) which is then stored by Facebook.

For details about handling of your personal data by Facebook and your related rights, please refer to the data privacy policy of Facebook: www.facebook.com/policy.php. If you do not want Facebook to map data collected on our websites to your Facebook account, you have to log out of Facebook before you click on the “share/like” button.

b. LinkedIn

We use a weblink to LinkedIn, provided by LinkedIn Corporation, 2029 Stierlin Court, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. If you click on this LinkedIn button, which can be recognized by way of the LinkedIn logo, a connection to the servers at LinkedIn is established. LinkedIn is informed at least about your visit of our pages including your IP address. We do not have any knowledge about the kind of further data transferred and its use by LinkedIn.

c. XING

Our websites using XING functions, operated by XING AG, Dammtorstraße 29-32, 20354 Hamburg, Germany. If you click on the XING button, a connection to the servers at XING is established. To our knowledge, no personal data and, in particular, no IP addresses are stored and user behaviour is not analysed.

d. YouTube

Our website uses plugins from YouTube, which is operated by Google, represented by YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA.
If you visit one of our pages featuring a YouTube plugin, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. Here the YouTube server is informed about which of our pages you have visited.If you’re logged in to your YouTube account, YouTube allows you to associate your browsing behavior directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account before visiting our websites.

YouTube is used to help make our websites appealing. This constitutes a justified interest pursuant to Art. 6 Para 1) lit. f) GDPR.

7. Your rights

a. Right to information, correction and deletion of your data

You have the right to be provided at any time with information free of charge about any of your personal data that is stored as well as its origin, the recipient and the purpose for which it has been processed. You may request access to (Art. 15 GDPR), a copy of (Art. 20 GDPR), rectification of (Art. 16 GDPR) or erasure of (Art. 17 GDPR) your personal data in compliance with the applicable statutory provisions. Where the deletion of your personal data is not possible due to contractual or statutory requirements, in particular retention obligations based on fiscal or commercial law, personal data will be blocked (Art. 18 GDPR). Furthermore, you have a right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR). Where the processing of your personal data is based on legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f) GDPR, you may object to such processing (Art. 21 GDPR).

b. Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

If in your opinion the processing of your personal data as described in this Privacy Statement infringes on the rules provided by the GDPR, you are entitled to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular the EU Member State of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement (Art. 77 GDPR). Such complaint is without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedy.
