PROTEC's Company History

When, in 1993, the use of CFC as propellant for sprays was decided, and non-flammable solvents like perchloroethylene (SEVESO) were prohibited, the time for "good" anti-spatters was over.

From then on, sprays were highly explosive "bombs" and biological anti-spatters did not correspond to the user's requirements.

In 1994, and in cooperation with users, PROTEC developed the unique and patented formula for PROTEC METALLOTION CE15L.

The launch onto the local market and its application in well-known companies in Austria like Austria Email, Bombardier, Liebherr, MAN, Mauser, Pöttinger, Siemens, Steyr Daimler Puch and many more, was realized until 1996.

In 1997, exportation started all at once with a bang. A German car manufacturer changed his production of fully galvanized car bodies literally overnight to use from then on PROTEC.

During the years to come, many manufacturers all over Europe as well as in Russia, Japan, Latin America, South Africa, Indonesia, Thailand and China followed their example.

Besides this "Premium Application", world market leaders of farm and construction machines, automotive and funicular engineering as well as the shipyard and steel industry discovered PROTEC.

Nowadays, PROTEC is the best-known insider tip for residue-free Premium Anti-Spatter.

In 1997, PROTEC started its development for a wire lubrication system called WELDING WIRE BALM. This product had the task to remove residues from the wire and to guarantee a good and stable friction behaviour.

For process safety during application, the TRIBO CLEANING STATION was developed and internationally patented in 2002.

PROTEC WLS products and TCS are now used worldwide for wire treatment. Steel, stainless steel, spring steel, copper and brass wire are "super-cleaned" and coated for various applications directly at the manufacturer.

The effect of PROTEC products always comes from the force of nature, i.e. from a composition of vegetable raw materials.

PROTEC develops and improves its products in close cooperation with pilot users. The products are developed according to the user's needs!
