The use of appropirate anti-spatter is a crutial require-ment for perfect zinc coating.

Ski fun also in midsummer.

In Bispingen/Germany, a gigantic skiing hall is being built. Approximately 23,500 m² will be available for snow enthusi-asts all year round as of 09/2006. The heart of the site is a steel construction whose girders and single parts were treated with the anti-spatter METALLOTION PROTEC CE15L before welding. The costs for refinish could thereby be reduced to a minimum and, at the same time, subsequent coating faults were avoided almost completely.

When it comes to the protection of metal parts against weld-ing spatter, well-known companies including the automotive industry, have been counting on the Austrian company PROTEC for many years.

Now, the anti-spatter METALLOTION PROTEC CE15L could also prove its efficiency in the steel construction industry: Dur-ing the mounting of the steel construction of the Snow Dome in Bispingen/Germany, all girders and single parts were treated with the anti-spatter METALLOTION PROTEC CE15L considering the subsequent zinc coating. Repairs and touch ups could thereby be reduced to a minimum and the tight time schedule for construction and mounting be observed. Manag-ing Director, founder of the company and inventor Hans Hoff-mann: "The effect of the anti-spatter during zinc and other coating mostly is misjudged and underestimated. The cost-benefit factor is often only related to the immediate effects during welding and spatter-cleaning. But the importance of the anti-spatter for the subsequent coating is also decisive."

METALLOTION PROTEC CE15L: the efficient anti-spatter for perfect zinc coating

Residues of conventional anti-spatter have negative effects on the functioning and the optics of subsequent coatings: They lead to wetting faults and spotting which can result in corrosion. Welding spatter which detach later on, also leave an uncoated spot. A water-based anti-spatter lotion which is not adjusted to pickling baths or the coating, also leads to coating faults.

The biodegradable anti-spatter METALLOTION PROTEC CE15L optimizes the quality of the workpiece surface by protection and self-cleaning effect in one cycle. The result: No porosity in the welding seams and nearly no refinish. With respect to subsequent zinc and other surface coatings like electro-coatings or paints, there are neither wetting problems nor spots on the zinc surface when using the METALLOTION PROTEC CE15L. These are the reasons why galvanizing plants, like e. g. the company OTC in Calbe (partner for the Snow Dome project in Bispingen and opera-tor of the longest zinc bath in Europe), and many others meanwhile recommend their customers to use METALLOTION PROTEC CE15L as anti-spatter.

PROTEC - worldwide successful with innovative prod-ucts for welding applications

The Austrian company PROTEC manufactures products for welding applications according to own formulas and patents whose efficiency is always based on a composition of vege-table raw materials. These products have now been distrib-uted by PROTEC for more than ten years through distribu-tion partners, and are meanwhile used and appreciated by a great number of well-known metalworking companies worldwide - from the automotive to the crane as well as the shipyard industry.

METALLOTION PROTEC CE15L, based on a successful formula with triglycerides, not only has a protective and self-cleaning effect which improves the efficiency of welding, but also bears the advantage for the welder that this anti-spatter lotion hast no safety risk.
